The itch for fashion has always been in me. Growing up, at times it seemed so far away, so foreign. Even up until college, I never identified as more than just a consumer. At the turn of 2021 I made the decision to go into something I’ve had this lifelong passion for and build my own label from the ground up. Ambitiously starting with footwear design, once I began I continued adding different pieces to the list to compliment my vision.

Live A True Life is a special combination of fashion design and product development. When I design a new piece I am leveraging everything I’ve learned from electronic, medical design, and consumer goods brands. The attention to detail needed for those disciplines translates well to the otherwise freeform design process of fashion. Comparing fabric samples felt like comparing different plastic molded finishings. Checking production samples against the tech pack reminded me of holding the manufacture to tolerance declarations on part drawings. Product development as a skill set is truly something with lateral capabilities.

From packaging design, to manufacturing, to supply chain optimization, to iterating and fit testing. Live A True Life continues to expand my foundational design knowledge.
